TiGRE at the GOVTRUST Summer School 2022

The theme of the GOVTRUST Summer School 2022 (29 Aug - 2 Sep 2022, Antwerp) is "A Multi-Level Perspective on Trust and Public Governance", which aims to give participants a comprehensive insight into the dynamics, causes and effects of trust in and between societal actors in multi-level public governance.

The GOVTRUST Summer School primarily targets PhD students, but also master's students, senior researchers or practitioners.

Koen Verhoest and Frédérique Six (lecturers, UAntwerpen) and David Levi-Faur (guest speaker, HUJI) presented the TiGRE results as part of the session "Trust and regulation", by focussing on the role of trust in the different relations within regulatory regimes, incl. the extent to which regulatory regimes require trust to function properly; the extent to which regulatory regimes enhance trust; the determinants and effects of trust within regulatory regimes.

After this session, participants traveled to Brussels for a half-day excursion to FASFC, the Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain, which participated in the TiGRE survey. A panel discussion on the importance of trust (in regulation) for FASFC was organised to make the link with scientific research.
